Professional steam cleaning for my home became expensive, which is what led me to research steam floor cleaners.
If you’re anything like me, you’re checking out all of the different machines to find which one is best for your home because your carpets and hard floors experience a lot of traffic.

I also found the Shark Vac Then Steam Mop, Euro Pro Shark Steam Mop, Bissell Steam & Sweep Hard Floor Cleaner and Euroflex Monster EZ1 Steam Mop to be some big contenders as well.
You’ll notice I also briefly mention details below about some Haan models, particularly the Haan FS20 , the Haan SI-35, and the Haan MS-30.
Personally, I eventually settled on the McCulloch MC-1275, but I was torn between the Haan models for quite a few days! After you check out the different types of steam floor cleaners I mention here, don’t forget that you’ll need to find the right pads for your cleaner, too.

What to Look for
A few things to bear in mind when comparing steam floor cleaners is that many of them work for all types of surfaces in your home, while others are designed for hard surfaces only.
Small, handheld steam floor cleaners are often only for hard-surface use, although depending on the model, it might work on many different surfaces. Some of the smaller steam floor cleaners can pack a lot of punch. You also want to consider the tank size.
Typically, the larger the tank is, the longer you can use the cleaner without having to stop and refill it. Also, many steam floor cleaners don’t require the use of any chemicals—even the heavy duty models, like the McCulloch MC-1275 I ended up purchasing for my home.
I do want to let you know I learned that when looking for a product online, no matter what it is, you need to be sure the site is safe, has great customer service and competitive prices. The third is actually least important as you will always find a discount online and many sites have similar prices. Types of Steam Floor Cleaners
In general, there are steam floor cleaners for commercial and residential use, and you can choose from canister or upright cleaners, hand steamers, and hard floor or carpet cleaners.
The residential steam floor cleaners are obviously designed with homeowner consumers in mind, so they are significantly less expensive than commercial models. This doesn’t mean you have to purchase a residential model, though.
Depending on your budget, some of the heavier duty models that are more geared toward commercial use will work great for your home. The canister and upright cleaners are some of the most expensive, and the hand steamers are very small and very inexpensive.

Cons 
A few cons I found when researching some of these brands and models had to do with their features, but not so much their quality.
For example, some customers don’t like that the Eureka 313A doesn’t lock into a standing position, and others feel the cord is too short. When looking for steam floor cleaners, I tried a friend’s Wagner 905.
I thought it could have used a little more power, and it doesn’t seem to heat up for very long when compared to some of the other models mentioned her. Also, it doesn’t have a handle, so it’s hard to get a good, solid grip on it when you are trying to move it around.
These are a few examples of common cons I found when researching different steam floor cleaners, and many of them aren’t exactly deal breakers. You just have to find a machine that lasts as long as you need it to and that has a design that works efficiently for your home’s tile or carpet areas.
